Gecko Travel Recruitment are working with an award-winning tour operator who are recruiting a Business Development Manager to join their successful trade sales team.
The Role:
As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for growing market share across your territory, managing key travel agency accounts and building new business relationships across the UK travel trade. The role will also involve hosting training events, attending industry conferences, supporting fam trips, and delivering outstanding account management support to agency partners.
You Will Have:
• At least 2 years' experience in a field-based travel sales role OR a strong retail travel background at senior level is essential• Proven success in account management and developing new business opportunities• Strong communication and presentation skills• Commercial awareness with the ability to analyse sales trends and performance• Organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently• Flexibility to travel extensively throughout the territory, including some evenings and weekends• Confidence using social media and creative engagement ideas to build brand awareness• Existing travel industry contacts within the territory would be advantageous• Passion for travel with strong destination knowledge• Full UK driving licence essential

The Role:
As a Europe Travel Expert, you will manage the full client journey from initial enquiry through to post-travel, delivering exceptional, tailor-made experiences. You will be responsible for driving sales, building strong client and supplier relationships, and using your first-hand destination knowledge to create high-end, bespoke itineraries across Europe.
You Will Have:
• Proven experience selling Europe as a destination with a strong focus on Greece, Spain, and Italy• Strong B2B experience is essential• Excellent sales track record with the ability to meet and exceed targets• Strong attention to detail and high levels of organisation• Ability to deliver exceptional customer service throughout the full client journey• Proactive, self-motivated approach with a focus on continuous improvement
